Training „New perspectives and challenges for agricultural science to join European Framework Programmes”

The training was organized especially for researchers from agricultural sector. It’s aim was to give them information about future contests within 7^th Framework Programme in subject “Food, agriculture and biotechnology and environment”, as well as to present different projects from Framework Programmes which were realized by IUNG and by other research institutes. Participants had an opportunity to ask representative from National Contact Point in Warsaw and scientists who have experience in taking part in European projects, about their concerns related to applying and realizing projects within Framework Programmes.

There were 7 key-speakers and 60 participants from 9 different institutions.

Presentations showing projects were as follows:

1. HEALTH GRAIN - “Exploiting bioactivity of European cereal grains for improved nutrition and health benefits” by doc. dr hab. Danuta Boros, IHAR Radzikow;
2. REFRESH - “Unlocking and developing the research potential of research entities in the EU´s convergence regions and outermost regions” by prof. dr hab. Mariusz Piskula, PAN Olsztyn;
3. VITAL – “Integrated Monitoring and Control of Foodborne Viruses in European Food Supply Chains” by dr Artur Rzezutka, PIWet-PIB Pulawy;
4. “IUNG-PIB participation in European Framework Programmes” by mgr Barbara Kaminska;
5. LEGUME FUTURES – “Legumes: key multifunctional legume crops for an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly future European agriculture” by dr Jaroslaw Stalenga, IUNG-PIB Pulawy;
6. PROFICIENCY – “Strenghten IUNG’s proficiency on “Managing the Production of Food and Feedstuff, their Safety and Quality under Global Climatic Change”; NUTRA-SNACKS; SAFEWASTES; FEED-SEG by prof. dr hab. Wieslaw Oleszek, IUNG-PIB Pulawy.

Presentations made by Bozena Podlaska, representative from National Contact Point, were: “How to increase your chances for participation in European projects?” and “Food, agriculture and biotechnology and environment in 7^th Framework Programme – information about planned contests”.
