Workshop „New challenges for agrochemical service in the Central-Eastern Europe under global warming climatic stress” organised within the PROFICIENCY project The workshop consisted of two parts. The first part (first day) was focused on the problems related to two main topics: “Application of the Nmin soil test in fertilizer recommendations and environment protection in Central-Eastern Europe” and “Sustainable nutrient management in focus of fertilizer recommendations systems in CEE countries” and concentrated on national level. It gathered, besides international experts, 36 representatives of Polish Agrochemical Laboratories. Altogether 17 lectures covering the most important and up-to date fields of activities of Agrochemical Laboratories were presented accompanied by vivid discussion regarding agronomical and environmental challenges for sustainable nutrient management. The second part was focused on international level and gathered mainly representatives of 10 countries organized in the MOEL group (Mittelosteuropäische Länder). The group was initiated in 1998 by Germany with the aim of promotion and integration of CEEC in the field of agricultural production, fertilization and soil analysis methods. The cooperating countries exhibit high activity – the meeting in IUNG-PIB was 13th since the group organization in 1998. The research project “Central and Eastern European strategy for an environmental sustainable management of agricultural soils” was prepared for the Central Europe research programme as the final output of the meeting.
