Open days for students, farmers and agricultural advisors IUNG-PIB Pulawy, 24–28 May 2010 organized within the PROFICIENCY project by the Department of Extension and Information A total of 586 visitors in 18 groups took part in the Open Days events. They were mainly from medium and high agricultural schools, but there were some groups of farmers and agricultural advisors too. Meetings were organized in lecture halls in the Institute and in the research departments. Field demonstrations took place in Experimental Station in Osiny (energetic plants, organic farming, cereal production), Agricultural Experimental Unit Puławy-Kępa (hop plantations) as well as in vegetation hall (pot and microplot experiments, hop seedlings production). All lectures were focused on the Institute’s activity and modern solutions in agrotechnic. Over a 30 presentations on those topics were prepared by 25 IUNG researchers. The presentations included information on the PROFICIENCY project and its possibly impact on better cooperation with the end users of the Institute research works. Each school group received relevant publications: the newest leaflets and dissemination instructions, IUNG-PIB folder and agricultural atlases (weeds, pests). |
