International Scientific Workshop " Climate change and biodiversity on agricultural lands" IUNG PIB Pulawy, 25-27 April, 2012 organized within the PROFICIENCY project The main focus was put on different climate change mitigation strategies implemented in selected European countries (UK, Netherlands, Switzerland). The results on possible consequences of climate change on birds population based on the Polish Common Breeding Bird Monitoring Scheme was presented by Przemek Chylarecki. The presentation of Wioletta Wawer on the environmental changes and expansion of thermophilous species was also a very interesting input to the workshop. The conclusions of the workshop indicate on close links between climate change and biodiversity. However this influence is often accompanied by strong influence of other, mainly anthropogenic factors, which predominate and cover climate effects.. |
