Workshop " Plant patogens as a problem for agriculture and processing; biological methods of identification and prediction of hazards" IUNG PIB Pulawy, June, 21, 2012 organized within the PROFICIENCY project The workshop was focused on the evaluation of the influence of intensification of crop production and climatic change on the increase of the threat of different pathogens. The first session of the workshop was devoted to pathogens of cultivated plants and methods of their identification. Presentations covered topics such as characterization of selected pathogens, methods of their elimination and breeding of resistant cultivars. The second session included issues related to specific group of pathogenic fungi producing mycotoxins which are important indicators of quality of grains, food products and fodder. This topic is essential in view of production of healthy and safe food. |
