3^rd National Conference  

" Bioactive plant compounds – structural and applicative aspects"

organized within the PROFICIENCY project 

The national conference “Bioactive plant compounds – structural and applicative aspects”  is organized every two years. This year it was the third edition, but for the first time within the Proficiency project.

During the three days of conference 27 oral lectures and 120 posters were presented. Their topics related to:

-         isolation, identification and structure determination of plant-derived natural compounds,

-         analysis of natural products in different matrices,

-         the usage of those compounds in human and animal nutrition, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries,

-         importance of natural substances in the ecosystem.

Participants of the conference had the occasion to visit the Department of Biochemistry and Crop Quality, to see the equipment purchased within the Proficiency project (Preparative LC system, Vacume rotary evaporator 20 L and Freeze-drying chamber) and the newest NMR spectrometer (purchased thanks to the co-financing from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education).
